PLA filter rod is an ideal support material for the new type tobacco due to its advantages such as safety, environmental friendliness, natural degradation, low filtration efficiency, and absence of odour. This characteristics are perfectly suited to the stringent requirements of the new Heated Non-Burning Cigarette (HNB) products for filter rods, which are able to achieve efficient cooling, low pressure drop and low filtration, while effectively retaining the aroma of the smoke and ensuring the production of a rich atomization volume.

According to the advantages of performance in the different heating modes,  the PLA/Acetate hollow composite filter rods are designed specifically for centre-heated HNB cigarettes, while the PLA/Paper hollow composite filter rods are designed for peripherally-heated HNB cigarettes. These two differentiated composite filter rods offer a wide range of cooling solutions for heated cigarettes. Currently, these two types of composite filter rods have already been applied in the Taiwan market.
